Grade 9 wood is sourced from walnut trees in the Caucasus Mountains of Eastern Europe, where the trees are subjected to extreme climatic conditions for hundreds of years. This results in tremendously slow grown, and gives the Grade 9 wood a naturally burled grain pattern with elegant marbling and an impressive 80% - 90% color contrast. After being precisely cut into shape, the wood stock is treated with a complex oil finishing and given an ebony fore-end tip. In addition, the R8's bolt assembly is one of the safest and most reliable actions on the market.
