Brownells AR-15 Carbine Buffer Silver

Brownells AR-15 Carbine Buffer Features The Brownells AR-15 Carbine Buffer is built to standard carbine specifications giving the bolt carrier group the correct weight and dwell time needed for reliable cycling. Inside the aluminum body are three internal steel weights which add mass to help absorb recoil impulse and slow the bolt carrier s rearward travel at the right point in the cycle. This balance of aluminum housing and steel weights keeps the buffer durable while still meeting the weight specifications a carbine length build calls for. Getting buffer weight right is a key part of tuning an AR-15 for smooth reliable function particularly when running different ammunition or gas system lengths. Finished in silver the buffer is sized to fit directly into a standard AR-15 carbine buffer tube without any modification. It works alongside a standard carbine length buffer spring to complete the recoil management system at the rear of the rifle. Builders assembling a new AR-15 from separate components will find this a necessary and dependable part of a complete build. It also serves as a practical spare for anyone maintaining an existing rifle ensuring a worn or damaged buffer can be replaced quickly with a factory-correct part.
