Description
Very good condition, some slight wear on the slide finish around the edges. The original Hi-Power pistol was produced by Fabrique Nationale (FN) in Belgium starting in 1935, and sold under the Browning Arms name in the United States. Production ended in 2018. Key characteristics Classic design: Conceived by John Browning and perfected by Dieudonn Saive, it was a major advancement with its high-capacity, staggered-column magazine and single-action operation. Standard capacity: The standard model held 13 rounds of 9mm, which was revolutionary for its time. Infamous "hammer bite": The original design was notorious for the hammer pinching or biting the shooter's hand with a high grip. Magazine safety: Many original models included a magazine disconnect, which gunsmiths would often remove to improve the trigger pull. Numerous variants: Over its 80-plus-year history, the Hi-Power was produced in several military and commercial variations, such as the Mark II and Mark III.
