BSF Barrels Carbon Fiber Bolt Action Barrel 6mm 24 in 1:7.5 Twist

BSF Barrels Bolt Action Barrel Features The Bsf Barrels Carbon Fiber Barrel is built from a turned-down 416R stainless steel match barrel jacketed in a roll-wrapped carbon fiber sleeve under tension rather than a simple wrap around the steel. This method avoids the heat trapping and delamination problems that can affect traditionally wrapped carbon fiber barrels over time. The carbon fiber material is engineered to expand at the same rate as the 416R stainless steel beneath it so the barrel stays stable as it heats up through strings of fire. For a ported version slots machined into the carbon fiber vent heat quickly without risking delamination though this barrel is supplied unported. Because the carbon sleeve is under tension rifling stays straighter even as the barrel warms which helps maintain accuracy during long range precision shooting. This construction also keeps the barrel significantly lighter than a comparable all-steel barrel an advantage for shooters carrying a precision rifle over distance. At 24 inches with a fast 1:7.5 twist rate button rifled construction and a 5/8x24 thread pattern this 6mm barrel weighs 42.30 ounces.
