Winchester (Miroku) ~ Model 1886 ~ Extra Light ~ 45-70 Govt

Winchester Model 1886 Extra Light High Grade rifle in 45-70 Gov't with a 22" barrel. The left side of the barrel is marked "U.S. REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / JAPAN / Miroku", and "CAL. .45-70 GOVT". The right side of the barrel is marked "WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 EXTRA LONG RIFLE. WINCHESTER LICENSEE". The top of the chamber ring is marked with ovalled "WP" proof. The top tang is marked "WINCHESTER / MODEL 1886". The bottom front of the receiver is marked "OESLRH0471". Both sides of the receiver are engraved with decorative scrolls and woodland scenes of two golden elk on the left and a golden white tail deer on the right. The front sight is a dovetailed brass-beaded blade. The rear sight is a dovetailed semi-buckhorn u-notch elevator sight. The stocks are two-piece checkered high grade gloss walnut with capped forend, straight comb, and blued steel buttplate. This gun remains in near new condition and appears unused. Comes with the factory matched box, cable lock, and papers.
