CCI HEVI-Bismuth shotshells are loaded for close-range pest control in 44 Special and 44 Magnum revolvers and compatible handguns. Each round uses a 112-grain charge of #8 bismuth shot, a lead-free alloy with a density of 9.6 g/cc, which the manufacturer states is close to lead and gives comparable downrange energy. The case is aluminum, and the load uses CCI's Catalyst lead-free primer.
The ammunition is sold in boxes of 10 rounds, with 20 boxes per case. The shot is non-toxic and meets non-toxic ammunition requirements, and the pattern is designed for short-range use on pests.
