Cimarron Firearms 1858 New Model Army Features The Cimarron 1858 New Model Army is chambered in .44-40 Win and built on a steel frame that faithfully recreates the look and feel of the original 19th century design. The 8 inch barrel provides a long sight radius that helps with precise aim at cowboy action matches or on the range while the fixed sights keep the profile clean and traditional. A blued finish covers the frame and barrel giving the revolver the deep classic look collectors and reenactors look for in a period correct sidearm. The 6-round cylinder capacity matches the original design offering enough rounds for a full stage without needing a mid course reload. Smooth walnut grips provide a traditional point of contact that complements the revolver s historic styling while offering a comfortable secure hold during firing. At 44 ounces the revolver carries enough heft to help manage recoil without feeling unwieldy in the hand. Standard hammer and trigger components keep the action authentic to the original New Model Army design appealing to single action shooting enthusiasts and Old West history buffs alike.
