Based on the serial number range, this revolver was manufactured circa 1918 during World War I production. Originally developed to supplement M1911 pistol production for the U.S. military, the Colt Model 1917 is a historic large-frame double-action revolver that remains highly sought after by collectors and military firearm enthusiasts. This example appears to be in very good overall condition for its age, retaining an attractive finish with moderate edge wear and handling marks consistent with honest use. The metal surfaces present well, the markings remain visible, and the revolver is fitted with smooth wood grips that complement its classic military profile.
