Description
The Colt Model 1917 DA45 revolver manufactured in 1920 represents the definitive, standard military configuration produced at the absolute tail end of its iconic World War I production run. Unlike the non-standard 5.9-inch variant, a 5.5-inch barrel is the precise, historically accurate factory specification mandated by the U.S. Ordnance Department for military issue. Colt produced roughly 154,800 Model 1917 revolvers to supplement the M1911 pistol shortage. While the war ended in 1918, production contracts and final parts assembly extended into 1920, making this specimen one of the very last original military-spec models to leave the factory floor.
