COLT ~ CUSTOM ~ EL CENTAURO ~ .38 SUPER

The "El Centurion", a limited-edition polished stainless steel 1911 chambered in .38 Super was originally commissioned through distributor Lew Horton. It was developed to avoid problems with selling 9mm Para and .45 Auto pistols south of the US/Mexico border, where firearms chambered in Police/Military cartridges are banned. The .38 Super Auto cartridge is in many ways, a superior cartridge with a flat trajectory, high velocity, and superior accuracy. The pistol is a mirror polish bright stainless steel. So shiny this photographer had difficulty keeping his image out of the photo. It appears unfired, in the box.
