Description
The Colt King Cobra is a staple of many Colt revolver collectors for its somewhat short production period but excellent shooting experience. Built on Colt's larger B frame, the King Cobra was designed as a duty weapon for law enforcement, offering full .357 Magnum power in a revolver that was durable and large enough to make shooting the powerful cartridge more tolerable. The revolver first hit the market in 1986 but production was cut short in 1992 as semi-auto pistols began to replace revolvers as duty weapons. Another run of King Cobras was made from 1994-1998 before being shelved yet again until its final reintroduction in 2019 in both .357 Magnum and .22 Long Rifle. This unit in particular is a later piece of the first initial group of King Cobras, made in 1991. The stainless steel revolver features a 6" barrel, 6-round cylinder, and is fitted with a rubber Pachmayr grip. The frame is polished with a matte top and rib for reduced glare. The sights are comprised of an adjustable target rear sight and fixed front sight ramp with red insert. The gun itself is in fantastic condition: the barrel is immaculate from end to end and the cylinder and breech face are clean as ever. There are tiny spots of surface rust in nooks and crannies, like along the bottom of the hammer or inside the ejector rod channellikely a result of being stored too dry. Aside from this, the gun appears to be unfired. At this price, this King Cobra is a no-brainer for a Colt or wheelgun collector. NOTE: This revolver does not include a case, box, or any original papers.
