Description
The Daniel Defense Lightweight Mid Length is a 14.5-inch AR-15 barrel chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, intended for builders and owners who want a mid-length gas system barrel for an AR-15 platform rifle.
The barrel is made from 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel and cold hammer forged around a precision mandrel to form the chamber, lands, and grooves. Each barrel undergoes magnetic particle inspection. It has a chrome-lined chamber and bore, a heavy phosphate black finish, and a 1 in 7 inch rifling twist. The profile is slim under the handguard and heavier forward of the gas block.
The barrel is supplied stripped with an A4 barrel extension, extended M4 feed ramps, and a pre-installed locator pin. It is compatible with both surplus mil-spec and commercial 5.56 NATO ammunition.
