Description
The Daniel Defense M4 is a 16-inch AR-15 barrel chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, built for carbine-length gas system rifles. It is made from Mil-Spec 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel that is cold hammer forged around a precision mandrel to form the chamber, lands, and grooves, and each barrel is inspected by magnetic particle testing.
The barrel has a government profile, slim under the handguard and heavier forward of the gas block. The chamber and bore are chrome lined for wear and corrosion resistance. The 1-in-7 inch rifling twist is suited to standard 5.56 loads. The matte black finish is applied to the barrel.
Stripped barrels include an A4 barrel extension with extended M4 feed ramps and a pre-installed locator pin. The chamber is rated for both surplus mil-spec and commercial 5.56 NATO ammunition.
