The barrel carries a black nitride finish for corrosion resistance and easier cleaning and it terminates in an A2 flash hider to control muzzle signature. A pistol length gas system keeps the operating cycle compact matching the shorter barrel and making the upper a natural fit for an AR pistol build. The M4 barrel extension locks into a forged 7075-T6 A3 upper receiver machined to mil-spec dimensions for reliable parts interchangeability.
