Description
The Faxon M16 Chameleon is a bolt carrier group for AR-15 platform rifles, chambered for 5.56x45mm NATO and 300 Blackout. It is designed as a replacement or upgrade part for mil-spec AR-15 builds.
The bolt is machined from 9310 steel and finished with PVD coating and salt bath nitride treatment, giving it a black appearance. The bolt is nitrided for surface hardness and corrosion resistance, and the bolt lugs are chamfered at 45 degrees. The extractor is made from S7 tool steel, heat treated and shot peened to MIL-SPEC.
The carrier is rated for full-auto use and is stated to maintain the trip for full-auto fire control groups and multi-stage trigger systems. Gas key fasteners are grade 8 and fully staked.
