Description
The Faxon Low Profile Ultra Low Contour Gas Block is a gas system part for AR-15 and LR-308 rifles. It mounts on a barrel with a 0.625 inch gas journal and taps propellant gas to cycle the action. Its low profile suits rifles with a rail system where clearance above the barrel is limited.
The block is made from 4150 steel and has a matte black nitride finish. It clamps to the barrel using three allen-head screws on the underside. The center of the profile is drilled through to reduce weight. The manufacturer recommends a thread-locking compound on the screws, and notes that gas blocks run hot, so the compound should suit the intended use of the firearm.
