Description
Federal Premium Fusion 7mm Backcountry is a 7mm Backcountry cartridge loaded with a 175-grain Polymer Tip Fusion bullet. It is intended for hunting and shooting in compact or suppressed rifles with shorter barrels.
The cartridge uses a patented Peak Alloy steel case, a one-piece design that the manufacturer states allows higher velocities than conventional brass-case ammunition. The 7mm Backcountry is dimensionally smaller than closer brass-case counterparts, which allows smaller rifles and an extra round in the magazine of most platforms. It is optimized for barrels around 20 inches.
