FN 509 9mm Pistol, Black - 66-100002

The FN 509 Compact Pistol is a modified result of the Modular Handgun System (MHS) competition for the US military. The grip features an enhanced texturing scheme, where parts of the grip are textured to be grittier where needed and smoother where excessive texture can become abrasive. The grip portion of the polymer frame can be adjusted to fit the user's hand perfectly with 2 interchangeable backstraps. This semi-auto pistol has aggressive cocking serrations on the slide to provide a positive, nonslip hold when loading or clearing the weapon. The cold hammer-forged stainless steel barrel has a recessed target crown to improve accuracy. The striker-fired, DAO trigger pull on the 509 semi-automatic pistol is short and smooth, and the trigger reset is positive. Several safety features incorporated into the trigger prevent the pistol from firing unless the trigger is pulled all the way to the rear and the slide is all the way forward. The 509 has no magazine safety. The frame has a MIL-STD 1913 accessory rail in front of the trigger guard for attaching optional aftermarket laser sights or tactical lights. The metal, 3-dot luminescent sights are dovetailed into the slide, and can be drift adjusted for windage. The magazine release and slide release are easy to reach and fully ambidextrous. The FN 509 Compact Pistol comes with 2 magazines, constructed of polished steel, and a quality storage case.
