Description

The FN M249S is a semi-automatic rifle based on the M249 SAW light machine gun, which FN Herstal originally developed as the FN MINIMI. It is built for shooters who want the look and handling of the SAW platform in a semi-automatic form. The rifle uses a closed-bolt operating system and a cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined 18.5-inch barrel chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO.

The rifle has a steel construction in a Flat Dark Earth matte finish, weighs 17.2 pounds, and measures 40.75 inches overall. It ships with adjustable sights, a folding steel bipod, a folding carry handle, and a flip-up feed tray cover. A removable heat shield and quick-change barrel capability are included.
