Description
The Geissele suppressor alignment gage (SAG) is a precision instrument designed to verify the alignment of a suppressor with the bore of a firearm barrel. It is crucial to recognize that the suppressor's length typically exceeds that of the barrel, muzzle device and suppressor interface geometry. A minor deviation at the mounting interface can result in a significantly larger deviation at the suppressor's exit hole. These deviations can accumulate, exacerbating suppressor misalignment. The Geissele SAG is constructed from hardened steel, ground to 0.002 inches below the nominal bore diameter. Its outer diameter is meticulously finished and maintains straightness to within 0.001 inches along its length. The hardening process ensures the SAG resists wear from abrasive powder residue, prevents burr formation if it contacts misaligned baffles and avoids embedding abrasive particles into its surface. Barrel bore diameters and straightness can vary widely; thus, the 0.002 inches undersize has been determined to be optimal for fitting most barrels. The extended length of the SAG facilitates alignment with the bore, eliminating the need for a tightly fitting gage. Fabricated from precision-ground, hardened steel, engineered to a tolerance of 0.002 inches below the nominal bore diameter for optimal performance and durability The external diameter is precisely machined and maintains a linear tolerance of +/-0.001 inches across its entire length Manufactured in the United States
