The SUP (universal self-loading pistol) was initially created with the American market in mind, but it has achieved worldwide recognition for its precision and exceptional reliability. HK pioneered the use of polymer materials in handgun production over 30 years ago with the VP70Z and P9S pistols, employing a fiber-reinforced polymer frame strengthened by stainless steel inserts in areas prone to stress and friction. Notably, the SUP distinguishes itself with a frame-mounted control lever that functions as both a safety and decoking lever, setting it apart from the slide-mounted safeties commonly found in many semi-automatic pistols.
