Description
The Henry All-Weather Picatinny Rail is Henry's own lever-action iteration of the scout rifle concept as thought up by the famous firearms instructor Jeff Cooper. A key component of the scout rifle would be mounting a scope with generous eye relief more forward on the rifle so as to improve peripheral vision and increase situational awareness. As Henry applied these concepts to a lever-action rifle of their own design, the scout rifle concept makes a lot of sense for brush guns and other uses lever action rifles are often employed in. The All-Weather Picatinny Rail is a compact lever gun chambered in the hard-hitting .45-70 Government. The barrel measures around 18 ½" long and is topped with an extended picatinny rail for adding forward-mounted scopes. The rifle also is equipped with a fixed front blade sight and adjustable rear peep sight. The gun carries a capacity of 4+1 and most of the metal surfaces are hard chrome-plated with a satin finish for an extremely durable and weather-resistant finish. The rifle has been fitted with a set of grey satin-stained hardwood furniture and a vented rubber buttpad. This rifle does not feature a manual safety, but does have a transfer bar safety mechanism. This Henry rifle is in excellent condition and has very little signs of usage. The wood furniture is in perfect condition and the barrel is also in excellent condition. The bolt's finish does show some wear from cycling, but that is the only visible wear on the gun, effectively. This Henry All-Weather includes the original box and papers.
