Description
Hornady Critical Defense 40 S&W is a 165-grain jacketed hollow-point cartridge built for concealed carry handguns. Its Flex Tip eXpanding (FTX) bullet uses a polymer tip designed to produce controlled expansion across a range of impact velocities, forming a wide wound cavity.
The load fires a 165-grain bullet at a listed muzzle velocity of 1175 feet per second. Cases are brass with a nickel finish for visibility in low light, and the loads use low-flash propellant to reduce muzzle flash in short-barreled handguns. The ammunition is non-corrosive and boxer primed.
Each box contains 20 rounds, with 10 boxes per case. The cartridge is chambered in 40 S&W.
