Hornady Precision Hunter 308 Winchester 178 Grain ELD-X 20 Rounds

Hornady Precision Hunter 308 Winchester 178 grain ammunition is a centerfire rifle load intended for hunting medium game. Each 20-round box uses brass cases and an Extremely Low Drag-eXpanding (ELD-X) bullet built around a Heat Shield tip designed to hold its shape and aerodynamic efficiency over the full trajectory.

The bullet has a streamlined secant ogive and boattail, and it is listed at a muzzle velocity of 2600 fps and roughly 2672 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The InterLock ring and thick jacket shank are intended to keep the core and jacket together, with the bullet described as retaining 50-60% of its weight on high-velocity impacts and 85-90% on lower-velocity impacts beyond 400 yards.
