The shroud mounts to the specifically-designed locking collar of a QDC suppressor, allowing mounting and removal of the suppressor with the shroud attached. Constructed of aluminum, with an ample circulation gap between the suppressor body and the shroud, the surface of the shroud heats slowly and cools quickly.
