"M" carrier is designed for Suppressed usage with 5.56mm NATO and .223 Remington or unsuppressed usage with 5.56mm NATO. The difference is in the venting of the carriers. The "M" has more venting and will run slower than the "C" if used in the same firearm with the same ammo. All other parts of the ARIC are identical.
