Long Branch ~ Canadian Lee-Enfield C No. 4 Mk I ~ .303 British

This is an attractive example of the Canadian Lee-Enfield C No. 4 Mk I manufactured at Long Branch, Ontario, in 1950. Chambered in .303 British, it remains in its full-military configuration with full-length wooden furniture, detachable 10-round magazine, protected front sight, and Canadian-pattern C Mk 3 adjustable rear sight. The serial number matches on the receiver, bolt, and magazine. It has the standard 10-round detachable magazine, loaded through the receiver using standard 5-round .303 British chargers. The buttstock has a clearly visible Canadian C-Broad Arrow military acceptance marking, and a B over 33 inspection mark. The N stamped on the top of the buttstock identifies it as normal-length. The small 6 stamped on the right side bayonet lug denotes a 6-groove barrel. On the side of the barrel near the muzzle it bears a discreet US importer marking: ".303 CAN" over "CAI ST ALBAN VT" which identifies Century Arms International of St Albans, VT, as the importer. Overall, it presents in very good to excellent condition as military-surplus. The metal finish is attractive with minor handling and service marks. The wood presents with the normal handling marks consistent with age and military use. It remains in full military configuration, with no obvious signs of sporterization, drilling & tapping, installation of a recoil pad, or any other significant civilan alterations. It comes with a leather military-style sling, but no representation is made as to its date or originality to the rifle. No magazine chargers (stripper clips) are included. No box or case.
