MARLIN ~ 1895M ~ .450 MARLIN

The Marlin 1895M was designed to handle Big Bore cartridges, the kind used to defend angry teeth and claws. This one is chambered in .450 Marlin, a high performance "belted magnum" cartridge based upon the .45-70 Goverment. The belt was added to prevent chambering the cartridges in older rifles. The rifle is a "JM" Marlin, built in 2005, and features nice wood, clean metal, and cross-bolt safety. There are a few handling marks, but the rifle is really clean, and nice. The oddity is three regularly spaced "hash marks" behind the rear sling stud. We guess they are success counters for deer, bear, or other game.
