Meridian Defense MDC-47 Pestilence 7.62x39mm Battleworn 14.5" P&W ASR Rifle - Red 47 StockThe Meridian Defense MDC-47 Pestilence 7.62x39mm Rifle is the next generation of one of Meridian Defense Corporation's most recognizable AK-pattern builds. The first of four models in Meridian Defense's limited "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" Series, the new Pestilence retains the unmistakable battleworn appearance of the original while introducing an extensively upgraded foundation built around Meridian's U.S.-made MDC 100 Series components. This special MDC-47 Pestilence configuration is for sale at ARMSAGORA's retailers and features the distinctive Apocalypse-finished Romanian wood furniture with a red-lettered "47" on the buttstock, giving this rifle an unmistakable appearance. This ARMSAGORA's retailers configuration also utilizes a 14.5-inch CHF chrome-lined barrel with a pinned-and-welded SilencerCo ASR 3-Port Muzzle Brake, bringing the barrel assembly to the required legal overall length while providing ASR suppressor compatibility. For shooters looking for the next evolution of the Pestilence, the Meridian Defense MDC-47 Pestilence is available at ARMSAGORA's retailers with modern performance upgrades hidden beneath its intentionally distressed, old-world AK appearance.Next-Generation MDC-47 PestilenceThe original Pestilence was built using Romanian military surplus components. Meridian Defense has taken the concept considerably further with the new generation, replacing the surplus foundation with its precision-built MDC 100 Series components. These U.S.-made components are machined in-house to provide tighter tolerances, increased consistency, and improved durability while preserving the character that made the original Pestilence so recognizable. The result is a rifle that looks like it has already survived the apocalypse but incorporates modern manufacturing, an upgraded barrel, an adjustable gas system, and suppressor-ready features.14.5" CHF Chrome-Lined 4150 CMV BarrelAt the heart of the MDC-47 Pestilence is a U.S.-made 14.5-inch Cold Hammer Forged barrel manufactured from 4150 Chrome-Moly Vanadium steel. The barrel is chrome lined for enhanced durability, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and extended service life. This represents a substantial upgrade from the black-nitrided barrel used in the previous-generation Pestilence.Barrel Specifications:Caliber: 7.62x39mmBarrel Length: 14.5 inchesConstruction: Cold Hammer Forged (CHF)Material: 4150 CMV steelBore: Chrome linedMuzzle Device: SilencerCo ASR 3-Port Muzzle BrakeMuzzle Device Installation: Pinned & weldedFinished Barrel Length: 16"+ legal rifle configurationPinned & Welded ASR 3-Port Muzzle BrakeThis ARMSAGORA's retailers configuration comes equipped with a SilencerCo ASR 3-Port Muzzle Brake that is permanently pinned and welded to the 14.5-inch barrel. The ASR brake brings the barrel assembly to the required rifle length while also providing an interface for compatible SilencerCo ASR mounting systems. This makes the Pestilence particularly well suited to shooters who want to build around a suppressor-capable AK platform without sacrificing the compact handling characteristics of a 14.5-inch barrel.Fully Adjustable MDC Gas SystemOne of the most significant upgrades to the new Pestilence is Meridian Defense's fully adjustable gas system. The adjustable low-profile MDC gas block allows the rifle to be tuned for different ammunition and operating conditions, including suppressed and unsuppressed shooting. Proper gas adjustment can help control excessive bolt velocity and over-gassing when a suppressor is installed while maintaining reliable cycling.MDC-47 100 Series ReceiverThe rifle is built around Meridian Defense's MDC-47 100 Series fully heat-treated stamped receiver.Combined with the new U.S.-made MDC components, the receiver provides a strong and consistent foundation designed around tighter manufacturing tolerances than the military surplus component set used in the original Pestilence.MDC-FSB Combination Front Sight & Gas BlockThe Pestilence features Meridian Defense's CNC-machined MDC-FSB combination front sight and gas block.Combining these components contributes to the rifle's compact front-end configuration while maintaining the rugged mechanical sighting system expected from an AK-pattern rifle.Ultimak M1913 Picatinny Gas TubeAn Ultimak M1913 Picatinny gas tube provides a proven forward accessory and optics mounting surface while maintaining the traditional profile of the rifle. The Picatinny interface allows shooters to configure the rifle with compatible red dots and other rail-mounted equipment.Side Rail Optics ReadyIn addition to the Ultimak rail, the MDC-47 Pestilence features an AK side optics rail, allowing the use of compatible traditional AK side-mount optic systems. This provides multiple options for configuring the rifle with modern optics while preserving its classic AK appearance."Special Projects Div" Rear Sight BlockAdding another distinctive Meridian detail, the rear sight block features MDC "Special Projects Div" laser engraving. It's a subtle finishing touch that complements the limited-series character of the Four Horsemen Pestilence.Hand-Finished Romanian Apocalypse Wood FurnitureThe Pestilence wouldn't be the Pestilence without its furniture.Meridian Defense uses refinished Romanian wood furniture with its signature "Apocalypse" treatment, giving each rifle the weathered, distressed appearance associated with the Pestilence series. This particular configuration takes that appearance one step further with a bold red "47" marking on the buttstock. Against the distressed Apocalypse wood and battleworn metal finish, the red-lettered 47 gives this rifle an immediately recognizable look.Because of the hand-applied and refinished nature of the furniture and battleworn treatment, individual rifles may exhibit cosmetic variations that contribute to the character of each firearm.MDC Performance TriggerThe rifle is equipped with the MDC Performance Trigger, providing a more refined trigger interface than a traditional military-pattern AK fire control group. The modernized trigger complements the tighter tolerances and upgraded internal components found throughout the next-generation MDC-47.Custom Battleworn FinishA custom hand-applied battleworn finish completes the Pestilence aesthetic.Rather than presenting as a pristine safe queen, the Pestilence is intentionally finished to look worn, rugged, and ready for the end of days. Combined with the Apocalypse wood furniture and red 47 buttstock marking, the result is unmistakably Meridian Defense.Meridian Defense MDC-47 Pestilence Features7.62x39mmNext-generation MDC-47 PestilenceFirst rifle in the limited Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse SeriesU.S.-made MDC 100 Series componentsFully heat-treated stamped MDC-47 100 Series receiver14.5" Cold Hammer Forged 4150 CMV barrelChrome-lined boreSilencerCo ASR 3-Port Muzzle BrakePinned & welded muzzle device for 16"+ legal rifle configurationFully adjustable MDC gas systemCNC-machined MDC-FSB combination front sight/gas blockUltimak M1913 Picatinny gas tubeAK side optics railMDC "Special Projects Div" laser-engraved rear sight blockHand-refinished Romanian "Apocalypse" wood furnitureDistinctive red-lettered "47" buttstockMDC Performance TriggerMDC GripCustom hand-applied battleworn finishIncludes one steel ComBloc AK magazineThe Four Horsemen Begin with PestilenceThe MDC-47 Pestilence represents the beginning of Meridian Defense's next-generation Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse series.
