Merrill Sportsman Single Shot Pistol with 8 Extra Barrels. This pistol was manufactured in Rockwell City, IA as a single shot pistol with a semi-auto profile. It cocks on barrel opening and has unique auto safety that is activated by shooter's thumb within the thumb rest of the left grip. Both grips with smooth gloss finished walnut. The hints to meaning 530th pistol made October 1976. All of the barrels are near excellent in finish and bore condition. The main Barrel is 9" in 30-30 Win. Slab sided VR marked "SPORTSMAN" with fin shaped front sight blade having squared face plus simple sporting adjustable rear. Extra Barrels 1). 10 1/2" in 270 Max. with hooded Patridge front sight, recessed target crown and Iron Sight Gun Works adjustable rear sight. Drilled and Tapped 8-40 for scope base (with plug screws). 2). 9" in 22 LR identical to main barrel. 3). 9" in 357 Mag. identical to #2. 4). 9" in 22 Mag. identical to #2. 5). 9" in 22 Jet identical to #2. 6). 9' in 22 Hornet identical to #2. 7). 9" in 44 Mag. identical to #2. 8). 9" in 256 Mag. identical to #2.
