NAMBU ~ TYPE 14 ~ NAGOYA ~ TORIIMATSU ~ 1944 ~ 8X22MM NAMBU

The Nambu pistol was Japan's issue pistol for many years. It shows the influence of the German Luger styling. Bill Ruger actually obtained a War Surplus sample of one, and it became the basis for the Ruger Standard Automatic .22. They were decent pistols, if a bit underpowered, and there was not a lot of fine finish work done to them. Sufficient to the Japanese military that they worked. This one was manufactured in 1944 when Japan was beginning to feel the pinch, and the level of finish work was beginning to fade. The magazine has a 3-digit number on it, the first two match the last two digits of the s/n.
