Proof Research Sendero Carbon Fiber Barrel Blank .224 WBY Mag 18" 1:8 Twist

Proof Research Sendero Barrel Blank Features The Proof Research Sendero barrel blank is built around a carbon fiber wrapped barrel system that significantly reduces weight compared to a steel barrel of the same length and contour. That weight savings matters most on a bolt action hunting or long range rifle where every ounce carried into the field adds up over a long day. The 18 inch length is paired with a 1:8 twist rate a stabilization rate matched to the heavier bullet weights typically fired in .224 Weatherby Magnum for long range performance. A .972 inch bore diameter and four groove rifling give the finished barrel the dimensional specification a gunsmith needs to properly chamber and headspace the build. Because this is a blank rather than a finished chambered barrel it is intended for a gunsmith or experienced builder who will chamber crown and fit the barrel to a specific action. Carbon fiber barrels like the Sendero are prized for dissipating heat differently than steel which can help maintain point of impact across strings of fire on the range. Proof Research builds its carbon fiber barrels to maintain the stiffness and straightness needed for genuine precision rifle accuracy not just weight reduction for its own sake. For builders looking to put together a lightweight accurate .224 WBY Mag bolt action rifle the Proof Research Sendero barrel blank is available for sale at ARMSAGORA.
