PROOF Research 284 Rifle Barrel 18" 1:8 Twist

Proof Research Blank Sendero Features The Proof Research Blank Sendero uses Proof s carbon fiber construction to deliver a precision barrel at a fraction of the weight of a comparable steel barrel. Chambered for .284 Win the barrel features a 1:8 twist rate designed to stabilize a wide range of bullet weights commonly used in this cartridge for both hunting and long-range shooting applications. Five grooves are cut into the bore to engage the bullet s jacket providing the spin needed for accurate consistent flight downrange. A bore diameter of .972 inches reflects Proof s Sendero contour a profile favored for its balance of rigidity and reduced weight giving a builder a stiff accurate platform without the weight penalty of a full steel blank of the same dimensions. Supplied as a blank with an 18 inch overall barrel length this product is intended for gunsmiths and custom rifle builders who will chamber and finish the barrel to their specific action and reamer. The carbon fiber wrap helps dissipate heat more effectively than bare steel in some conditions while significantly cutting the overall weight a shooter carries in the field. This makes the Blank Sendero particularly well suited to mountain rifles and other weight-conscious precision builds where a lighter barrel translates directly into a lighter more maneuverable rifle on long hunts or mountain stalks. Because it ships as a blank rather than a finished barrel a builder retains full control over chamber dimensions crown and overall finished length to match the exact specifications of the host action. Available for sale at ARMSAGORA this barrel blank gives builders a proven lightweight foundation for a custom .284 Win rifle built to their own exacting standards.
