Proof Research Sendero Light Blank Barrel 264 Win Mag 18" 1-7.5 Carbon Fiber

Proof Research Blank Sendero Light Barrel Features The Proof Research Blank is a bolt action barrel built in .264 Win Mag combining a carbon fiber wrapped exterior with a precision steel liner for a significant weight reduction over an all-steel barrel. The Sendero Light profile keeps the barrel slim and manageable while carbon fiber construction continues dissipating heat efficiently during strings of fire which matters most when a long-range shooter is sending multiple rounds downrange while tracking impacts. A 1 in 7.5 inch twist rate is matched to stabilize the longer heavier bullets typically loaded for .264 Win Mag long-range shooting giving handloaders more flexibility in bullet selection without sacrificing stability downrange. At just 2 pounds 7 ounces this barrel sheds considerable weight from a rifle build compared to a comparable steel barrel of the same length a difference that is felt directly when carrying a rifle over long distances in the field or on a mountain hunt. Measuring 18 inches with a 2.5 inch barrel breech and a 1.20 inch shank diameter the blank is sized for builders assembling a custom bolt action rifle around standard actions. Five-groove rifling supports consistent bullet engagement and accuracy across a range of .264 Win Mag loads helping a gunsmith deliver repeatable results once the barrel is chambered and fitted. The carbon fiber finish gives the barrel a distinct appearance while reinforcing the weight savings that make Proof Research barrels popular among long-range and mountain rifle builders and the steel liner underneath ensures the barrel holds up to the demands of sustained precision shooting. For shooters building a lightweight precision rifle the Proof Research Blank in .264 Win Mag offers a proven purpose-engineered foundation that is ready for a gunsmith to thread chamber and fit to the action of choice.
