Proof Research PXT .284 Caliber 16.5" 8 Twist Non-Threaded Rifle Barrel

Proof Research Sendero Barrel Features The Proof Research Sendero barrel is built around Proof s carbon fiber wrapped construction which bonds a carbon fiber sleeve over a stainless steel liner to dramatically cut weight compared to a traditional steel barrel of the same contour. In .284 Cal the 16.5 length keeps the rifle short and maneuverable while the 1:8 twist stabilizes the long heavy-for-caliber bullets favored by long range shooters. Five lands and grooves are cut into the liner for consistent bullet engagement and accuracy shot after shot. Because the barrel is sold as a blank it allows a gunsmith to chamber and finish it to the builder s exact specifications. The carbon fiber wrap also improves heat dissipation characteristics relative to a bare steel barrel of equal weight helping velocity and point of impact stay more consistent across a long string of fire. This makes the Sendero a strong choice for competitors and hunters who need to send multiple rounds without the barrel walking off target as it warms. The reduced weight up front shifts balance rearward making the completed rifle easier to carry and hold steady in the field. For a shooter building a lightweight long range .284 Cal rifle the Proof Research Sendero barrel is a proven foundation available for sale at ARMSAGORA.
