Proof Research Sendero Carbon Fiber 6.5 Creedmoor 20" 1-8 Threaded Barrel

Proof Research Carbon Fiber Barrel Features The Proof Research Carbon Fiber barrel begins as a full-profile match-grade 416R stainless steel blank manufactured in Proof s own firearms division then turned down to a significantly reduced contour before being wrapped in high-strength aerospace-grade carbon fiber with a proprietary resin matrix. This carbon fiber wrap diffuses heat along the barrel s length far more effectively than steel alone allowing the barrel to cool faster between shots and hold its zero over longer strings of fire. The result is a barrel up to 64 percent lighter than a comparable traditional barrel while remaining nearly impervious to weather nicks dings and scratches during field use. A 1-8 twist rate in 6.5 Creedmoor is well matched to the heavier longer-range bullets favored by precision shooters. Threaded 5/8x24 at the muzzle this Sendero contour barrel accepts a muzzle brake or suppressor for reduced recoil and improved follow-up shot observation. It is engineered as a pre-fit barrel for the Zermatt Origin action and Proof notes it is also compatible with the Aero Precision SOLUS platform. Reduced weight up front makes a rifle easier to carry and maneuver in the field without giving up the accuracy a precision shooter demands. This barrel suits long-range hunters and competitive shooters who want match-grade performance in a significantly lighter package.
