Proof Research Zermatt Origin Carbon Fiber 6.5 PRC 24" Pre-Fit Barrel

Proof Research Barrel for Zermatt Origin Features The Proof Research pre-fit barrel for the Zermatt Origin is wrapped in high-strength aerospace-grade carbon fiber impregnated with a proprietary matrix resin resulting in a barrel that is 64% lighter than a traditional steel barrel of the same contour. This substantial weight reduction improves overall rifle balance and reduces fatigue when carrying the rifle over long distances. Chambered in 6.5 PRC with a 1:7.5 twist rate the barrel stabilizes the long heavy-for-caliber bullets the cartridge is known for shooting accurately. Carbon fiber wrapping also improves heat dissipation compared to bare steel helping the barrel resist stringing shots during rapid strings of fire. Installation is designed to be straightforward: the barrel threads onto the Zermatt Origin action is torqued to spec and headspace is verified with proper gauges before shooting. A 5/8x24 threaded muzzle accepts a wide range of muzzle brakes and suppressors for recoil management or noise reduction. Because the barrel is shouldered and pre-fit specifically to the Origin action length it eliminates the need for a gunsmith to perform chambering or fitting work. For Zermatt Origin owners looking to reduce weight or switch to 6.5 PRC this Proof Research barrel offers a precise purpose-built upgrade.
