Remington 788 chambered in 6mm Remington. This is a bolt-action, centerfire rifle that uses an external single-column magazine that holds 3 rounds. This rifle was manufactured from 1967 to 1983. The 788 was developed as a less expensive rifle to compete against lower price rifles available. The rifle has a unique rear lug bolt that rotates only 60 degrees. This allows more clearance for scopes. The design of the action increased its rigidity and strength. This results in a very accurate rifle. It has Weaver style bases for scope mounting. The 6mm Remington rifle cartridge, originally introduced in 1955 by Remington Arms Company as the .244 Remington, is based on a necked down .257 Roberts cartridge. The performance is similar to the .243 Winchester. It comes with 2 magazines. There is a indention on the comb of the stock from an impact to the wood. This is not shown in the pictures.
