Description
One of the most successful American bolt-action hunting rifle designs, the Ruger Model 77 has been on millions of deer hunts since its inception in 1968. Its success has allowed the rifle to continue its production even today, and has seen multiple revisions and versions over the decades. This rifle is an M77R and is a 1980 production piece. The rifle was a standard model of M77 at the time and can be identified by its original tang-mounted 2-position safety, flattened bolt handle, and rounded rear of the bolt. This rifle is chambered in .22-250 Remington and touts a 22" barrel. The M77 utilizes a long external extractor and controlled feed system for very smooth and reliable cycling. The rifle also has a fixed internal magazine with hinged floorplate for simple and easy unloading of the rifle. The rifle is in its original configuration with the infamous integral scope bases on the receiver and original red-brown rubber buttpad and has sporter-style iron sights on the barrel: a fixed front sight with brass bead and adjustable rear sight. The rifle is set up with a vintage Leupold 3-9x44mm scope. The rifle is overall in quite good condition, especially for a rifle which has likely seen its fair share of field time. The rifle's bluing is largely intact, though the barrel's finish is a different toneit is possible that is has been reblued. The stock has light wear and the gloss finish is wearing in various areas. But, there is overall no significant damage to the gun or furniture. This rifle does not include a case or box.
