RUGER ~ ″STANDARD″ AUTOMATIC ~ 1 OF 5000 ~ .22 LONG RIFLE

The Ruger "Standard" pistol was developed int eh late 1940s. This one marks the end of the original design being the first of them to be produced in stainless steel. This one is part of the "Signature series" with Bill Ruger's signature engraved on the top. It is 1 of 5000 produced, and has a silver on red medallion, like the originals. Mr Ruger changed the logo to a black background upon the death of his partner, Alexander McCormick Sturm. The box features the modern silver on black logo. The box has factory papers including the reproduction ad for these pistols with a suggested price of $37.50, roughly $500 in today's dollars.
