Its bolt-over-barrel design, with the magazine seated in the grip, is intended to give it balance and pointability in a compact package weighing 5.9 pounds.

The rifle has a 16.25-inch barrel with a black nitride finish and a 1:9 twist, a 1/2-28 thread pattern, and an aluminum receiver with a black synthetic stock and M-LOK handguards. It uses a Secure Action fire-control system with a bladed safety trigger and a manual thumb safety, and it ships with adjustable Ruger Rapid Deploy sights and a 10-round magazine.
