The Ruger MAX-9 Optic is a striker-fired, subcompact 9mm Luger pistol built for concealed carry and defensive use. It comes with a factory-mounted Ruger ReadyDot micro reflex sight, co-witnessed with the iron sights, using a 15 MOA red dot and a light-gathering fiber optic system that adjusts to ambient light without batteries.
The pistol has a 3.20-inch alloy steel barrel with a black oxide finish and a 1:10 right-hand twist, housed in a through-hardened alloy steel slide. The polymer frame is glass-filled nylon with a medium-textured grip. Overall length is 6 inches, height is 4.52 inches, and weight is 18 ounces. Safety features include a trigger safety, manual safety, internal striker blocker, and a chamber inspection port.
