Description
The Safariland 578 GLS Pro-Fit is an outside-the-waistband holster for right-handed carry, built around the GLS (Grip Lock System) retention mechanism. The GLS secures the pistol when holstered and releases it when the shooter applies pressure with the middle finger from a standard shooting grip.
The holster body is made of SafariSeven, a lightweight nylon blend described as non-abrasive to a gun's finish and tolerant of extreme temperatures. It is rated for semi-automatic pistols from 3 to 6.02 inches in barrel length, including the Glock 17, 20, 21 and 22, the S&W M&P 9 and 40, and the HK P30L.
The holster uses an injection-molded paddle and an adjustable injection-molded belt loop. The paddle allows carry with or without a belt, and the belt loop allows cross-draw wear.
