The Savage Model 1903 was a distinctive early 20th‑century .22 rimfire rifle produced by Savage Arms Co. of Utica, New York, from 1903 to 1916, with a small batch of about 1,000 made in 1922 Shooting Times. It was Savage's first successful slide‑action (pump‑action) rimfire rifle, introduced to compete with the Colt Lightning and Winchester Model 1890.
