Description
The Savage Arms 42 Takedown is an over/under combination firearm that pairs a 22 WMR rimfire barrel on top with a .410 bore shotgun barrel below. The break-action design lets the two barrels be separated for compact storage, and the action is operated by pressing a button to release the takedown.
The 20-inch barrels give an overall length of 35.75 inches and the gun weighs 6.1 pounds. It has a carbon steel receiver, a synthetic stock, black/blued metalwork, a post front sight, and an open V-notch rear sight. The action is ambidextrous and the capacity is 1 round. The rear sight can be removed to fit a scope base on the rimfire barrel.
