Description
The Sierra Tipped MatchKing is a 77-grain .224-diameter target bullet for reloading, sold in a box of 100. It uses the MatchKing line's lead-core, copper-jacket construction with a plastic tip added to reduce drag.
The tip lowers drag and gives the bullet a higher ballistic coefficient than an untipped MatchKing of the same weight. Sierra holds weight retention to within plus or minus 0.3 grain. The tip is also intended to help reliable feeding in magazine-fed rifles.
The bullet is aimed at precision target work such as Palma and F-Class matches, and at 3-Gun and other competitions. Sierra notes that tipped bullets are not recommended for use in certain applications, so check the full manufacturer guidance before loading.
