Description
The P226 is an enduring line of Sig Sauer pistols. Widely adopted by military and law enforcement, the P226 has proven its ability to handle extreme adversity and brutal conditions. Sig Sauer is now featuring their classic line of P226 in a caliber ideal for the range and marksmanship training. This P226 Classic line pistol features a crisp 5 lb single-action only trigger with adjustable sights. Perfect for target practice on the range, this P226 .22 comes with custom engraved walnut grips that prominently feature the SIG mark. The P226 22 pistol also comes with two (2) 10-round polymer magazines. There is no gun as synonymous with the SIG SAUER brand as the P226, developed in the 1980’s as a replacement for the US military’s M1911-A1. While the P226 ultimately wasn’t chosen to be the United State's standard service pistol, it didn’t stop the US Navy Seals from adopting it as their sidearm of choice for conducting special operations missions. In use in some capacity by military and law enforcement in 30 countries worldwide, the Sig Sauer P226 has developed a reputation as a near perfect service pistol. The P226 features a lightweight aluminum frame and a stainless steel slide that comes in a variety of finishes. P226’s are chambered in four rounds: .22LR, 9mm, .40 S& W and .357 Sig. Features include: M1913 Rail for attaching aftermarket accessories like a flashlight or laser sight. Decocker for safely lowering the hammer when holstering or storing a loaded gun. About Sig Sauer From humble beginnings as a wagon to factory to one of the world’s largest firearms, optics, and ammunition manufacturers; the history of Sig Sauer is rich in innovation and achievement. After winning a contract from the Swiss government in 1864 for their Prelz-Burnand muzzleloading rifles, the Swiss Wagon Factory change its name to Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaf, the Swiss Industrial Company, better known as SIG. In 1949 SIG developed the SIG P49, the predecessor to the P210 and continued developing small arms for the Swiss military and police. Since then the company has changed its name, acquired other firearm manufacturers, and crossed the Atlantic—setting up headquarters in New Hampshire. However, what hasn’t changed is the innovative spirit that has driven SIG SAUER to develop firearms like the SIG516 rifle, MCX rifle, P320 pistol, and P226 pistol. With clients like the Texas Rangers, United States Secret Service, Navy Seals, and dozens of local law enforcement agencies nationwide; SIG SAUER is there When It Counts.
