Description
The Sig Sauer X-RAY3 Day/Night is a set of iron sights designed for Sig Sauer P224, P226, P228, P229 and P239 pistols. It uses a 3-dot tritium system with a #8 front sight and a #8 square-notch rear sight, intended to give consistent sight picture for both low-light and daylight use.
The front and rear sights are built with tritium inserts, with a green tritium glow in low light. The sights are set into a steel frame that surrounds the tritium to help protect it from recoil, cleaning solvents and the elements. The raw listing describes a tritium half-life of about 10 years, after which the glow is expected to dim.
