In very good condition, this S&W 25-5 is a classic Smith & Wesson N-frame revolver, known for being chambered in the powerful yet pleasant-to-shoot .45 Colt cartridge, essentially the .45 Colt twin to the famous .44 Magnum Model 29 ("Dirty Harry" gun). This large-frame, six-shot revolver from the 1970s/80s is praised by shooters for its accuracy, good balance, and suitability for general purpose use or bowling pin shooting, offering a great shooting experience without harsh recoil, especially with standard loads. Key Characteristics: Caliber: .45 Colt (the "-5" denotes this, while even dashes often meant .45 ACP). Frame: Large N-frame, built for powerful cartridges. Capacity: 6-shot cylinder. Similarity: Visually very close to the Model 29 (.44 Mag). Use: Popular with hunters, recreational shooters, and combat handgun shooters, noted for its effectiveness with 200-250 grain bullets.
