Description
The SnapSafe TrekLite XL is a lightweight polycarbonate lock box designed to store and transport a full-size 1911 handgunsized pistol, along with ammunition, medication, or other valuables. Its overmolded exterior is intended to protect the slide and offers a softer appearance than a typical steel box.
The box measures 10 inches overall and weighs 1.6 pounds. It is built from polycarbonate and includes four pieces of foam for padding and organization. A patented cable that does not impede the lock box is included, rated at 1500 pounds and about one third the weight of a comparable steel lock box. The lock is keyed, with two keys supplied, and the box is described as pry resistant and TSA approved.
